CIPH Supports Habitat for Humanity

History

In 1993 it was CIPH Board’s vision to align the association with a charity that would tie in with the philosophy of building, renovations and providing hope. Our members believe in the “hand up, not a hand out” approach and this was one of the key criteria for choosing Habitat. Our goal was to raise funds for Habitat, celebrate the cause with a charity Gala dinner and tie it in with our tradeshow in Toronto. So in 1994 we began our fundraising campaign and we held our first charity Gala in support of Habitat in March of that year. We attracted over 300 senior executives. The Gala provided an opportunity to roast a senior executive in the industry who had made major contributions to CIPH and the industry. We included a live and silent auction and celebrated the achievement of raising $117,000. (...more history)

Fundraising Campaign 2012/2013

The 2012/2013 CIPH Charity Committee Chaired by Keith VanderVennet (Wolseley) and his Committee: Paul Blaik (Independent Mechanical Supply), Case de Jong (Franke Kindred Canada), John Hammill (Moen), Doug Kennedy (Masco Canada), Dave McPherson (Rheem Canada), Peter Olierook (Don Park), Doug Puddifant (Westpoint Sales) , Julie Storey (Boshart)and Randy Winter (Canplas) are very excited to announce that it has set a goal to raise $2.75 million over the next two years for Habitat for Humanity Canada.

"Each year HFH provides homes for over 250 families in Canada and CIPH wants to continue to be a part of this. By providing plumbing and hydronic heating products to help build homes our Association is taking an active role in helping these families realize the dream of home ownership" states CIPH Charity Committee Chairman Keith VanderVennet (Wolseley).

3 WAYS TO DONATE:

  1. Provide “product certificates” for products that can be used in Habitat homes. Our goal is to provide packages of certificates of industry products for 250 homes in 2012 and 2013

  2. Donate cash. Although products are important, cash is desperately needed in order to purchase land for Habitat homes. Many members choose to make a two-year commitment.

  3. Donate Obsolete/Discontinued product to a Habitat for Humanity ReStore. All donations will be sold through a Habitat ReStore. Donors will receive a tax receipt for 50% of the retail value of the donation. Think Green – Think Habitat. Help divert this product from landfills.
